What is cheaper for a family of six, to go from texas to california, driving or taking a plane? -

were going to california soon and were drving. but is driving and paying for all that gas cheaper then paying for 6 plane tickets? btw were leaving from texas. also i cant do all the math right now to fiugure it out so please help, thanks.

DRIVING is way, way cheaper, but you have to decide if losing 2 to 4 days of your trip due to driving time is worth the expense of flying. I couldn t drive that distance without an overnight break in the middle and I personally would not be willing to lose 4 days of my vacation. We will only drive up to 10 hours, which we can do in one day, before giving it up and paying to fly! There are 6 of us, also.

driving is cheaper. you figure gas is $3 a gallon. and depending on where it is its around 1500 miles.

Depends on where your going. Buy far enough in advance and its $49 one way. Driving will still be less but whats your sanity and time worth.
