What Beaches in or near NYC for the 4th of July? -

I am planning on spending a nice, (hopefully) quiet 4th. I ve decided to go to a beach, but I m new to the city and not sure where to go. Hopefully, somewhere clean and not terribly crowded. Don t really care which of the boroughs, if you have some suggestions in Jersey, that would work too. Do you think the water would be warm at this time? And please don t suggest Coney, I did a little research and have already crossed that one out. Save that for another time. Thanks.
